Autodelta was Alfa Romeo’s competition department founded by Carlo Chiti. In 1984 and 85 the 890T engine powered the Benetton and Osella Squadra Corse teams.
Former aircraft engineer and Cosworth employee, Brian Hart began his own engine company tuning other manufacturers engines and eventually designing and producing his own Formula 2, and then Formula 1 engines. A small company fighting against the giants his engines powered cars in 157 Grands Prix. In 1984 his 415T engine was installed in three teams: Skoal Bandit Formula One, Toleman and Spirit Racing.
Designed by Carlo Chiti for the Minardi F1 team with driver Pierluigi Martini. The photograph shows the engine at Monaco 1985.
