Marbles, McLaren And Alain Prost – Dallas GP 1984

mclaren.marbles.dallas84.sign100º F temperature + 1000HP Turbo F1 cars + deteriorating track surface + extreme tire wear = the worst case of “marbles” I ever saw.  Driving slightly off line was like sliding on ice.  The slightest error resulted in complete loss of control with only the concrete walls to stop the car.  The baking Texas heat and crumbling track were an extreme test of the driver’s physical stamina and mental discipline.  It was an extraordinary display of concentration and precision while racing under hostile and dangerous conditions.
