Patrick Head, Williams Formula One – British Grand Prix 1985
Patrick Head, together with Frank Williams, founded Williams Grand Prix engineering in 1977 and together won nine Constructors Championships. Candid and blunt he was a popular figure in F1 and responsible for numerous engineering innovations. During Head’s tenure at Williams Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve won Driver’s Championships. As Williams Technical Director Head employed a formidable list of designer/engineers like Adrian Newey, Neil Oatley, Ross Brawn, Frank Dernie and Geoff Willis.
